On a Saturday, my son had a robotics competition from his school at a high school in the Cocoa Beach area. After dropping him off at the school, we spent almost a day in Cocoa Beach. We drove here and there and got some pictures from the beach. Here are some glimpses of this:

Located on Florida’s Space Coast, Cocoa Beach is a charming seaside town known for its beautiful beaches, lively atmosphere, and range of outdoor activities. Whether you’re looking to soak up some sun, catch some waves, or explore the area’s rich history and culture, there’s something for everyone in Cocoa Beach.

One of the main draws of Cocoa Beach is, of course, its stunning beaches. Stretching for miles along the coast, the beaches here are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and surfing. Some of the most popular beaches include Cocoa Beach Pier, Lori Wilson Park, and Jetty Park. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax or a more bustling area with plenty of amenities, you’re sure to find the perfect beach for your needs in Cocoa Beach.

Surfing

Cocoa Beach is also known as the “Surfing Capital of the East Coast” thanks to its consistent waves and excellent surfing conditions. The town is home to a number of surf schools and shops, making it easy for both beginners and experienced surfers to hit the waves. Some of the most popular surf spots in Cocoa Beach include the Cocoa Beach Pier, Shepard Park, and the famous “Ron Jon Surf Shop” beach.

There are also plenty of parks and nature preserves in the area, such as the Thousand Islands Conservation Area and the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, which offer hiking, biking, and birdwatching opportunities.

Space History

Cocoa Beach is also home to a rich history of space exploration, as it is located just a few miles from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Visitors can take a tour of the facility, see the launch pads and space shuttles up close, and even watch a rocket launch if they’re lucky. The nearby Astronauts Memorial Foundation and U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Museum offer further insights into the history of space exploration.
